3D Printed guitar

Postby odiegel » Sat Apr 07, 2012 6:01 am

Hi Guys,

Hope you are all having a great Easter holiday!

Nothing to do with the Up printer, but couldnt resist sharing my latest 3D printed guitar that I started assembling yesterday:
http://www.odd.org.nz/atom.html

It was done on a Selective Laser Sintering System, and dyed red.

Just need ot finish making the neck (hopefully Tuesday when I have access to a laser cutter), then I can string it up and test it out... :-)

Cheers

But, Just to make it Up! relevant, I'll try printing a mini-guitar, with a 100mm body, on the Up printer next week and see if I can get the support material out from the inside.

Rather than print body as a single item, why not print top, bottom and the side as three items, then weld together with mek ?

That way no support should be needed

Or print bottom and side as one then separate top, again no support should be needed

Hi Norwich,
Go for it! There are also a few videos floating around the net now showing how they sound.
Latest version has active pickups and sounds awesome!

I might be wrong, and if so, I am very sorry, but the replies from that user seem very generic and may just be to promote the site in the signature and push the google ranking. I've seen that in other forums as well. Also the post times are very close and you can find the exact same posts on other boards; It's generic text blocks to create the illusion of interest.

Your not wrong. This is exactly what I tried to draw pp3dp's attention to here:
http://pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=881&sid=68af08712c2300c2a176e666187eb6d8

If it isn't stopped it will swamp and destroy the forum.

Hi Marcus,
Not sure if it's my replies you were worried aboou but, rest easy, I have zero interest in google rankings. :-)
Was just posting a nice example of what 3D printing can be used for, and though it's not directly Up related, I am an actuve Up user, and we now have 12 of them at the university.
Cheers

Sorry for the confusion.
