UP! Printer Review on Ponoko Now

Hey all,

I wrote a review for Ponoko about the UP! printer. It is there now if you want to have a look.

One question that is asked by comments on the blog is "How many more printers are for sale at $1500?" I think people want to know if they have a chance to get one! So if a staff person from PP3d could answer, that would be great

The exact number is commercial secret . Don’t worry, the price still is 1500 now.

Even without 100 units, the price will be back to 3000 at the end of September.

I know this is my first post (and don't have much in the way of street cred).... But... I travel to Shenzhen for business - bringing a product into mass production. From my point of view - "China" is NOT synonymous with "sweatshop." While it may exist, I did not see it in the factories I have visited/worked with. Just offering my eyes; You're not hyper sensitive, the writer is just showing signs of bigotry by wrapping all Chinese manufacturing under the umbrella of factories without scruples.

The factory staff I worked with, I learned, can play some mean Badminton - just say'in


Sent in my PO for an UP and extra material earlier today! Super excited (and hope I get in on the first 100).


*For anyone unfamiliar - Shenzhen is one of China's special economic zones... Lots of goods/finished goods are born in that city :p
